Coastal Bulk Shipping Ltd (CBS) are the operators of the New Zealand registered general cargo ships MV Anatoki (capacity of up to 800 tonnes of cargo) and MV Rangitata (capacity of up to 2,200 tonnes). These vessels move cargoes around the New Zealand coast efficiently and cost effectively.
CBS has been in operation since 2008. Each vessel is designed to be able to successfully and safely navigate shallow harbours such as Whanganui, Westport and Greymouth, all subject to each respective Port’s ongoing approval. This allows each vessel to pick up / discharge their cargoes closer to their source / destination, providing clients with efficiencies through moving their cargoes by sea.
Both vessels also serve the major New Zealand ports.
The ASP Ships Group took a 50% shareholding in CBS in April 2020 and has since been working to expand the business and its service offerings. Recently ASP increased their stake in CBS to over 98%.
CBS’s Vision is to be the ‘Preferred Coastal Shipping Operator’, providing a sustainable and competitive service to all stakeholders.
